Diversity and structure of Hyphomicrobium populations in a sewage treatment plant and its adjacent receiving lake

Article Abstract:

Different stages of a sewage treatment contain genetically different cells of the gram-negative bacteria Hyphomicrobium. A study of Hyphomicrobium spp. in a German sewage plant reveals that the populations adapt to the specific processes and are different from those in the raw sewage. Bacteria with almost identical morphologies and nutritional types are genetically different though they are present in the same plant or the adjoining receiving lake.

Sonoporation is an efficient tool for intracellular fluorescent dextran delivery and one-step double-crossover mutant construction in Fusobacterium nucleatum

Article Abstract:

Sonoporation is a commonly used tool for intracellular fluorescent dextran delivery and one-step double-crossover mutant construction in Fusobacterium nucleatum and other microorganisms. The described technology has been found to be extremely effective, as it can be easily used for streamlining mutant construction in bacteria.

Isolation and partial characterization of anatagonistic peptides produced by Paenibacillus sp. strain B2 isolated from the Sorghum mycorrhizophere

Article Abstract:

Purification and partial characterization of the antagonistic factor produced by Paenibacillus sp. strain B2 is reported. The antagonistic factor of Paenibacillus sp. strain B2 is active against several gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and two pathogenic soilborne fungi.
