Diversity and seasonal changes of uncultured Planctomycetales in river biofilms
Article Abstract:
The 16rRNA-based methods are used to investigate if the seasonal changes of uncultured Planctomycetales in river biofilms are correlated with changes in the species composition. The fingerprints showed that there was strong seasonality of most bands and that there were clear differences in the summer and the winter and thus, seasonal changes in the abundance of Planctomycetales in river biofilms were coupled to shifts in the community composition.

Biofilm community structure in polluted rivers: abundance of dominant phylogenetic groups over a complete annual cycle
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the river biofilm communities. The seasonal dynamics of these communities have been investigated via fluorescence in situ hybridization and biofilm sampling procedure.

Diversity and seasonal variability of beta-Proteobacteria in biofilms of polluted rivers: analysis by temperature gradient gel electrophoresis and cloning
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on beta-subgroup of Proteobacteria. The authors describe the study of this subgroup in biofilms of polluted rivers via the use of molecular 16S rRNA techniques.
