Diversity and classification of mycorrhizal associations

Article Abstract:

A new and simple definition of mycorrhizas is presented to encompass the full diversity of associations, responsible for the nutrient transfer at an interface resulting from synchronized plant-fungus development. Mycorrhizas are also known for balanced mutualistic associations, whereby the fungus and plant exchange commodities are required for the growth and survival of both partners.

Vegetation dynamics-simulating responses to climatic change

Article Abstract:

The modeling approach is developed to investigate the responses of vegetation to environmental change, at time scales from days of centuries and from local to the global scale. The Sheffield Dynamic Global Vegetarian Model (SDGVM) is designed with seven functional types of plants to cover the terrestrial biosphere.
