Distinguishing adaptive from nonadaptive genetic differentiation: Comparison of Q(sub ST) and F(sub ST) at two spatial scales
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted as an extension of previous studies of life history and population genetic differentiation in wild barley, H. spontaneum Koch, sampled using hierarchical design in four different environments representing distinct climatic zones and vegetation types. The results suggested a moderate to high degree of differentiation among populations of wild barley in both molecular and quantitative traits.

Characterization and Molecular Mapping of Genes Determining Semidwarfism in Barley
Article Abstract:
Allelism testing and simple sequence repeat marker mapping comparisons revealed independent genetic loci for the barley semidwarf trait. Implications for breeding and line selection are discussed.
