Distinct roles of c-Abl and Atm in oxidative stress response are mediated by protein kinase C delta

Article Abstract:

The c-Abl and Atm are linked in the reaction of cell to DNA-damage and oxidative stress and the molecular system, which systemizes the oxidative stress response, is quite opaque. The manner in which the absence of c-Abl and Atm distinctly modifies the response of the cells to the oxidative stress by introducing the antioxidant protein, which needs the protein kinase C Delta vigorously, is discussed.

Overexpression of fasciculation and elongation protein zeta-1 (FEZ1) induces a post-entry block to retroviruses in cultured cells

Article Abstract:

The basis of the block to retroviral infection in the R3-2 line and two mutuant Rat2 fibroblast cell lines, R3-2 and R4-7 is previously isolated by a selection for retrovirus resistance. The fasciculation and elongation protein zeta-1 (FEZ1) overexpression is sufficient to explain the resistant phenotype of R3-2 cells and identify FEZ1 as a new gene capable of causing retrovirus resistance.

VHL-box and SOCS-box domains determine binding specificity for Cul2-Rbx1 and Cul5-Rbx2 modules of ubiquitin ligases

Article Abstract:

An attempt is made to show that von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) specifically interacts with endogenous Cullin-Rbx1 in mammalian cells, whereas SOCS-box proteins associate with Cul5-Rbx2. LRR-1 and FEM1B as proteins are identified to share a region of homology with VHL and associate with Cul2-Rbx1
