Article Abstract:
A new two-step filtration protocol followed by real-time PCR assay is built up to directly quantitate salmonellae in two types of biological samples that is chicken rinse and spent irrigation water. Four prefiltration filters, one type of final filter, and six protocols for recovery of salmonellae from the final filter are evaluated to identify an effective filtration protocol and this study has contributed to the development of a simple, rapid and reliable method for qauntitation of salmonellae.

Article Abstract:
Results reveal that 18 of the 25 badger social groups excrete different nontyphoidal Salmonella species, which exhibit susceptibility to antimicrobials. Data indicate that the S. enterica serovar Agama and S. enterica serovar Binza isolates are similar, whereas S. enterica serovar Lomita and S. enterica serovar Ried are different. Furthermore, S. enterica serovar Agama are spatially clustered.
