Article Abstract:
The two species of SRC coactivators, either as AIB1: SRC-1 are recruited, possibly through heterodimerization, on the promoter of genes that contain a classical hormone responsive element (HRE) are analyzed. The results revealed non-HRE-containing genes are early genes activated by steroid receptors, whereas HRE-containing genes are activated later, and it also shows that SRC proteins contribute to the temporal regulation of gene transcription.

Article Abstract:
NIR (Novel INHAT Repressor) is a potent transcriptional corepressor that is not blocked by histone deacetylase inhibitors, capable of silencing both basal and activator-driven transcription. A tandum affinity purification approach identified the tumor suppressor p53 as a NIR-interacting partner and it was observed that upon recruitment by p53, NIR represses transcription of both p53 dependent reporters and endogenous target genes.

Article Abstract:
Fluorescence imaging, biochemistry and genetics are used for showing that TBP (TATA-box-binding protein)-related factor 2 (TRF2) has selectively regulated the TATA-less Histone H1 gene promoter, while TBP/TFIID has targeted core histone transcription. Results show that TRF2 promoter recognition complexes have played a crucial role in governing metazoan transcription.
