Article Abstract:
Different human transcription factor B (TFIIIB) activities have been found to direct RNA polymerase III transcription from promoters with and without TATA. Results of a study help define basal RNA polymerase III transcription machinery. They show that two kinds of TFIIIB activities have evolved in human cells. The activities have specificities for different classes of RNA polymerase III promoters .

Article Abstract:
The Swi5 activator has been found to recruit the Mediator complex to the HO promoter without RNA polymerase II. Proteins that interact with the Swi5 domain of interest were sought. The Gal11 component of the Mediator complex was identified.

Article Abstract:
RapA has been found to stimulate RNA polymerase (RNAP) recycling in transcription. It is a bacterial homolog in Escherichia coli of SWI2/SNF2 that is RNAP-associated. The effect of RapA on transcription of supercoiled DNA has been determined at different salt concentrations. It stimulates transcription at relatively high salt concentrations greatly.
