Article Abstract:
Research reveals that in Euplotes crassus ribosomal frameshifting mediates the generation of a catalytically active protein from the three TERT genes. Results show that the expression of these genes and telomere maintenance or de novo telomere formation occur concurrently, suggesting that telomerase expression elicits a developmental switch to de novo telomerase addition.

Article Abstract:
Research demonstrates that a granzyme A-activated DNase functions as a nucleoside diphosphate kinase which suppresses tumor metastasis and inhibited by SET. The kinase binds to SET and the inhibitor is released by granzyme A cleavage. Data indicate that cells overexpressing the kinase are sensitive to granzyme A-mediated DNA damage.

Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that the Pin2/TRF1 binding protein, PinX1, is a potent inhibitor of telomerase activity and putatively suppresses tumorigenesis. Data reveal that inhibitory action of PinX1 is mediated by PinX1 via TID domain binding to the telomerase catalytic subunit.
