Development of an F57 sequence-based real-time PCR assay for detection of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis in milk
Article Abstract:
A light cycler-based real-time PCR (LC-PCR) assay that amplifies the F57sequences of Microbacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis was developed that included an internal amplification control template to monitor the amplification conditions in each reaction. The assay specificity was demonstrated by evaluation of 10 known Microbacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis isolate and 33 other bacterial strains.

Development of a new, combined rapid method using phase and PCR for detection and identification of viable Mycobacterium paratuberculosis bacteria within 48 hours
Article Abstract:
Viable Mycobacterium avlum subsp. paratuberculosis cells are detected as phase plagues in just 24 hours by using the FASTPlaqueTB assay reagents. The FASTPlaqueTB assay is a diagnostic aid for rapid detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis from human sputum samples.

Genetic diversity and antibiotic resistance patterns in a Campylobacter population isolated from poultry farms in Switzerland
Article Abstract:
The diversity and genetic interrelation of Campylobacter jejuni and C. coli isolated from Swiss poultry were assessed by three independent typing methods. The findings illustrate the results of common genetic exchange in the studied bacterial population.
