Development and function of the mammalian spleen

Article Abstract:

The genetic and transcriptional networks essential for mouse spleen organogenesis and the spleen's function are discussed. The analysis has shed light on the role of the spleen in the development and maintenance of specific B cell population that are involved in the initial response to infection caused by encapsulated bacteria.
