Development and characterization of microsatellite markers for genetic analysis of a Brazillian endangered tree species Caryocar brasiliense

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that Simple Sequence Repeats (SSR) genotypic analysis can discriminate between individuals of Brazilian endangered tree species. Data further show that the SSR technique enables studying natural plant populations in the absence of maternity and paternity information.

Colonization patterns of the invasive Brazilian peppertree, Schinus terebinthifolius, in Florida

Article Abstract:

The contrasting genetic signatures are used to study the spatial spread of Brazilian peppertree (Schinus terebinthifolius) across its entire range in Florida. The analysis has indicated that Brazilian peppertree is capable of rapidly recolonizing areas from which it is eradicated.

Heritability, phenotypic and genetic correlations of size and shape of Drosophila mediopunctata wings

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate a high positive phenotypic correlation between the wing shape outline and the fourth and the fifth longitudinal wing veins and this relationship is also seen at the genotypic level in the Drosophila mediopunctata wings.
