Detection and characterization of streptococcus thermophilus bacteriophages by use of the antireceptor gene sequence
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted with an aim to develop a characterization system useful in phage control programs in dairy farm. This association is valuable for the dairy industry by allowing a rational starter rotational system to be established and by helping in the selection of more suitable starter culture resistance mechanism.

Characterization of Cry34/Cry35 binary insecticidal proteins from diverse Bacillus thuringiensis strain collections
Article Abstract:
A survey on 6,499 Bacillus thuringiensis isolates by hybridization for sequences related to cry35A genes, identifying 78 strains, is performed. The results suggested that proteins of the appropriate molecular mass for Cry35 were observed in 42 of the strains.

New strategy for identification of novel cry-type genes from Bacillus thuringiensis strains
Article Abstract:
Five degenerate primers were designed for detection of novel cry genes from Bacillus thuringiensis strains. An efficient strategy was developed based on a two-step PCR approach with these primers in five pair combinations.
