Derepression by depolymerization: structural insights into the regulation of Yan by Mae

Article Abstract:

The repression by Yan, an ETS family transcriptional repressor, requires the formation of a higher order structure mediated by Yan-SAM polymerization is discussed. It is found that depolymerization of Yan by Mae represents a novel mechanism of transcriptional control that sensitizes Yan for regulation by receptor tyrosine kinases.

Polycomb group protein Ezh2 controls actin polymerization and cell signaling

Article Abstract:

The existence of the cytosolic Ezh2-containing methyltransferase complex and tie the function of this complex to regulation of actin polymerization in various cell types is reported. The function of Ezh2 points to a broader usage of lysine methylation in regulation of nuclear and extra- nuclear signaling processes.

Regulation of WASP: PIP2 pipped by Toca-1?

Article Abstract:

A new avenue for study of WASP regulation of actin assembly is presented, which provides an idea about old models for signaling to actin through Cdc42, WASP, and the Arp2/3 complex. It is shown that a previously unknown regulator named Toca-1 is required for Cdc42 to activate WASP.
