Article Abstract:
Defects in Saccharomyces cerevisiae type I protein phosphatase start up the spindle/kinetochore checkpoint. It appears that Glc7p has a role in regulating kinetochore attachment to the spindle, monitored by the spindle/kinetochore checkpoint. Loss of the spindle/kinetochore checkpoint in glc7-129 cells gets rid of the G2/M cell cycle arrest and with that comes increase in chromosome loss and less viability. Point-of-execution experiments show Glc7p function is necessary in G2/M just before anaphase for mitosis to go to completion.

Article Abstract:
Results reveal that heterozygosity of tumor suppressor genes TSC1 and TSC2 is capable of rescuing Drosophila mutants from the loss-of-function of insulin receptor lethality. Data indicate that TSC genes act in consonance with the insulin pathway regulating negatively insulin signaling.

Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that the complex between the RNA-binding proteins, Mago Nashi and Tsunagi, is involved in defining the major body axes in Drosophila melanogaster. Mago Nashi protein interprets the posterior follicle cell-to-oocyte signal establishing the major axes.
