Deconstructing digit chondrogenesis

Article Abstract:

Embryogenic skeletogenesis is a very good model for studying the molecular mechanisms regulating chondrogenesis. The regulatory factors responsible for chondrogenesis have concluded that early chondrogenic signals for the digit cartilages have differed from those implicated in the formation of other axial and appendicular skeletal components.

My favorite molecule: The androgen recptor mRNA

Article Abstract:

Androgens acting via the androgen receptor, a nuclear transcription factor, regulates male sexual development, body composition and confers better prognosis in breast cancer. The mechanisms involved in regulating AR mRNA stability, the nature, potential role and structural biology of ARmRNA- protein instructions are discussed.

Many ways to make a gradient

Article Abstract:

A recent publication discusses a novel mechanism by which a morphogen gradient can be established. The conclusion states that fgf8 is transcribed only in the tail cells and that the gradient of fgf8 transcripts is produced by growth and mRNA degradation.
