DNA microarray analyses of the long-term adaptive response of Escherichia coli to acetate and propionate

Article Abstract:

Research findings point out to changes in the gene expression during exponential growth of Escherichia coli on complex media containing sodium acetae or sodium propionate at neutral pH as shown by DNA microarray studies. Data indicate that these changes are not the result of only uncoupling or osmotic effects but the adaptive response of the organism itself to either of the compound.

Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium and Listeria monocytogenes acid tolerance response induced by organic acids at 20 C: optimization and modeling

Article Abstract:

Results point out that optimization of the acid tolerance response in Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium and Listeria monocytogenes occurs following an exposure to acidulants, acetic acid and lactic acid, at specified pHs and at 20 C.
