DLA-DRB1, DQA1, and DQB1 alleles and haplotypes in North American gray wolves

Article Abstract:

The determination of the nature and degree of polymorphism for major histocompatibility complex class II loci DLA-DRB1, DQA1, and DQB1 for the Alaskan and Canadian gray wolves in several geographically separated regions is presented. It indicates that the wolf ancestors of Asian and European dogs might had different gene pools, reflected in the DLA alleles present in dog breeds.

Hardy-Weinberg expectations in canine breeds: Implications for genetic studies

Article Abstract:

Studies are conducted to examine whether breeds and subbreeds comply with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) as a useful indicator of genotype frequencies within a population. Results indicate that canine case-control association studies would be reasonable if performed within defined breeds.
