DEP-domain-mediated regulation of GPCR signaling responses

Article Abstract:

The yeast regulators of G protein signaling (RGS) protein Sst2 were examined to demonstrate that the DEP domains in Sst2 mediate binding to its cognate GPCR (Ste2). DEP-domain-mediated tethering promotes downregulation by placing the RGS protein in proximity to its substrate (receptor-activated G[alpha] subunit), Sst2 docks t the Ste2 cytosolic tail, but only its unphosphorylated state, allowing for release and recycling of this regulator upon receptor desensitization and internalization.

Defining the CREB regulon: A genome-wide analysis of transcription factor regulatory regions

Article Abstract:

CREB transcription factor regulates survival, differentiation and synaptic plasticity, however, the complement of CREB targets that are responsible for these responses are not identified. A unique method to identify CREB targets, called serial analysis of chromatin occupancy (SACO), is developed and results of the study, which is the most exhaustive definition of transcription factor binding sites in metazon species are discussed.

A nuclear function of beta-arrestin 1 in GPCR signaling: Regulation of histone acetylation and gene transcription

Article Abstract:

Chromatin modification is considered to be a fundamental mechanism in regulating gene express to generate coordinated responses to changes in the environment. It is not known whether this is regulated directly by signals mediated by G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs).
