Article Abstract:
Pachytene chromosome analysis was used to identify four new simple trisomics of soybean from chromosome two, three, ten and 14. The extra chromosome was associated with the trivalent configuration, chromosome length, arm ratio and distribution of euchromatin and eurochromatin. The crosses between the extra chromosome in Triplo two were found to be different from those found in Triplo four and five. This method successfully identifies plants with 2n equal to 41 chromosomes and is able to localize the extra chromosome.

Article Abstract:
The alleles for the three seed protein protease inhibitors of Glycine tomentella (2n = 38) are monogenic and segregate in the ratio of 3:1 in a cross between two accessions of this species. The genes Pi1, Pi2 and Pi3 are all nuclear encoded and follow a Mendelian pattern of inheritance. Five trypsin inhibitors are identified in G. tomentella and none of these comigrate with the soybean inhibitors, KT1 and BBI'.

Article Abstract:
The authors have investigated single recessive yellow leaf mutants in soybean. The hypothesis that these mutants can be associated with a specific bean chromosome has been tested via the use of primary trisomics, and the details are discussed.
