Cyclooxygenase-1-derived PGE2 promotes cell motility via the G-protein-coupled EP4 receptor during vertebrate gastrulation

Article Abstract:

Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production by microsomal PGE2 synthase (Ptges) is essential for gastrulation movements in zebrafish. A critical requirement of PGE2 signaling is demonstrated in promoting cell motility through the cyclooxygenases-1-Ptges-G-protein-coupled pathway, a previously unrecognized role for this biologically active lipid in early animal development.

Head and trunk in zebrafish arise via coinhibition of BMP signaling by bozozok and chordino

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates that the signals for head and trunk formation during vertebrate development are governed by bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs). Results show that mutations in BMP inhibitors limit BMP signaling, which in turn regulates the determinants that specifying vertebrate head and trunk development.

Six3 repression of Wnt signaling in the anterior neuroectoderm is essential for vertebrate forebrain development

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on anterior neural structure formation in vertebrate embryos. The authors demonstrate that WNT signal gradient species posterior fates in the anterior neural plate.
