Article Abstract:
The cyanide degradation under alkaline conditions by a strain of Fusarium solani isolated from contaminated soils was studied. The research repeatedly isolated bacteria and fungus from contaminated soil samples by their ability to grow in media supplemented with cyanide. Results reveal that the fungus was able to biodegrade cyanide under highly alkaline conditions in minimal medium containing cyanide as the source of carbon and nitrogen.

Article Abstract:
An extracellular alkaline lipase of alkalophilic Pseudomonas Pseudoalcaligenes F-111 has been purified and partially characterized. The alkaline lipase can withstand high temperatures, detergent treatments and high alkalinity, properties which make it suitable for detergent applications. Alkaline lipase production of the strain was found to be enhanced by the introduction of Triton X-100.

Article Abstract:
The analysis of the cio operon from P. pseudoalcaligenes CECT5344 is presented. It presents the evidence for the role of cytochrome bd-related oxidase in cyanide assimilation, since disruption of cioA transforms the bacterium in a cyanide-sensitive strain.
