Article Abstract:
The discovery that the retinoblastoma tumor suppressor (pRB) gene inhibits cell cycle has raised questions about the possible effect of various factors that interact with pRB, on cell division and growth. These questions were addressed in the study of wing development in the Drosophila melanogaster. Cyclin E and the Cdc25-type phosphatase String, were found to initiate the S- and M-Phases of the cell cycle, respectively. In addition, the dE2F transcription factor was found to induce both String and Cyclin E production. The pRB fly homolog, RBF was also found to inhibit cell cycle.

Article Abstract:
Results show that formation of the endophilin-calcium channel complex requires calcium which binds to the primary binding domain within endophilin that regulates both endophilin-calcium channels and endophilin-dynamin complexes. Data indicate that calcium channels coordinate synaptic vesicle recycling by coupling to both exocytosis and endocytosis processes.

Article Abstract:
In this review molecular and physiological basis of endoreplication or endocycles are considered in terms of regulatory mechanisms, control switches, and upstream regulators operating during cell differentiation and growth. Specific examples from insects, mammals, and plants are discussed.
