Article Abstract:
A study in which the tmk gene was replaced by kanamycin resistance gene kka1, which encodes the amino glycoside 3'-phosphotransferase kanamycin kynase is presented. Growth of transgenic Escherichia coli strains is dependent on thymidylate kinase activities of various origin expressed from plasmids and the construction of Escherichia coli in-frame deletion strains of tmk, which encodes thymidylate kinase, Tmk is reported.

Article Abstract:
A rapid and easily automated phylogenetic grouping technique based on analysis of bacterial genome single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) was developed. The results indicated that the information for the 13 SNPs are sufficient to construct the phylogenic history of Escherichia coli and that the SNP phylotyping approach are suitable and robust for phylogenic analyses of a wide variety of bacterial species.

Article Abstract:
The isolates of Listeria monocytogenes, an intracellular pathogen of food-borne disease, were subjected to multilocus genotyping assay (MLGT) to achieve a rapid identification of the subtypes in order to develop effective control measures for this pathogen. The method proved to be a powerful tool to identify the pathogens and for other epidemiological investigations.
