Conserved MYC transcription factors play a key role in jasmonate signaling both in tomato and Arabidopsis

Article Abstract:

The isolation of two MYC regulatory proteins that bind to jasmonate (JA) responsive elements in the tomato leucine aminopeptidase (LAP) and pin2 promoters is described. The results revealed that the JAMYC/AtMYC2 transcription factors function as members of a MYC-based regulatory system conserved in dicotyledonous plants playing a key role in JA-induced defense gene activation.

A post-transcriptional regulatory switch in polypyrimidine tract-binding proteins reprograms alternative splicing in developing neurons

Article Abstract:

The post-transcriptional regulatory switch in polypyrimidine tract-binding proteins (PTB) and neural PTB (n PTB) was examined by splicing sensitive microarrays. During neuronal differentiation the splicing of exons is altered indicating that the post-transcriptional switch from PTB to nPTB controls a broad alternative splicing program during neuronal development.

Environmental regulation operating at the promoter clearance step of bacterial transcription

Article Abstract:

The presence of Lys-bound regulator protein- ArgP in the transcription of argO gene causes reversible binding of RNA polymerase at the promoter. These investigations show the influence of environmental signal in the regulation of promoter clearance.
