Article Abstract:
Cellular fatty acid analysis was utilized to determine the relationship between an alleged Bacillus sphaericus NCTC 11025 strain isolated from a human lung and Bacillus sphaericus strain 2362 isolated from a microbial larvicide. The CFC analysis of NCTC 11025 indicated that the gram positive microbe is composed of straight rods or occasional serpentine rods with spherical spores that terminate to a bulging sporangia. Furthermore, the nonpathogenic NCTC 11025 strain was misidentified as Bacillus sphaericus.

Article Abstract:
The study presents a molecular characterization of a glucokinase-encoding gene, glcK, which is obtained from Bacillus sphaericus strain C3-41 and has broad hexose specificity. It can be clearly seen that the bacterium is unable to metabolize carbohydrates due to the absence of a phosphoglucose isomerase-encoding gene.

Article Abstract:
The abilities of two mosquitocidal toxins (Mtx) of Bacillus sphaericus were analyzed. Results concluded that both the Mtx were useful in recombinant bacterial insecticides as a resistance management tool because of their toxicity and synergistic interactions with other mosquitocidal toxins.
