Glutamate residues in the putative transmembrane region are required for the function of the VirS sensor histidine kinase from Clostridium perfringens

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the causative agent of gas gangrene. The altering of the conserved histidine and glutamate residues in examining their significance for VirS function is discussed.

Comparison of Tn5397 from Clostridium difficile, Tn916 from Enterococcus faecalis and the CW459tet(M) element from Clostridium perfringens shows that they have similar conjugation regions but different insertion and excision modules

Article Abstract:

Three tetracycline resistance elements have been found to be closely related. Tn5397 from Clostridium difficile, Tn916 from Enterococcus faecalis, and the CW459tet(M) element from Clostridium perfringens have been compared. They were found to have similar conjugation regions despite different excision and insertion modules.

Genomic analysis of the erythromycin resistance element Tn5398 from Clostridium difficile

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the erm(B) genes and Tn5398 in Clostridium difficile. The characterization of the putative transposon and examination of the erm(B) genes' and Tn5398's arrangement and distribution in C. difficile strains from different geographical locations have been carried out and discussed.
