Article Abstract:
The current status of the river buffalo gene map stands at 99 loci assigned, of which 67 are coding genes and 32 are anonymous DNA segments, with a genetic market assigned to each 19 acrocentric autosomes and X and Y chromosomes.

Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to map the vitiligo, or vit, gene to the mi locus of laboratory mice using classical breeding and isozyme marker analysis. C57BL-6J-vit-vit mice were crossbred with C57BL-6J mice carrying the Miwh or miws alleles at the microphthalmia locus. Mating analysis of the crossbred mice revealed an allelic inheritance between vit and the alleles at the microphthalmia locus. The study resulted in the mapping of the vit gene to the mi locus on chromosome 6. It was also suggested that the gene be designated as mivit.

Article Abstract:
Six homologous genes were mapped in the cattle genome to investigate the syntenic conservation as well as the evolutionary origin of the HSA19 region of the mammalian chromosome. The mapped genes are the genes for calreticulin, CALR, for erythropoietin receptor, EPOR, for two protooncogenes, JUNB and JUND, for the carcinoembryonic antigen, CEA, and for protein kinase C gamma subunit, PRKCG.
