Comparative, collaborative, and on-site validation of a TaqMan PCR method as a tool for certified production of fresh, Campylobacter-free chickens
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to validate TaqMan PCR method in comparative and collaborative trials on the basis of recommendations from Nordic validation organization, NordVal. In conclusion, this method compiled with the criteria for the validation of alternative microbiological methods and is approved by NordVal as an alternative for detection of thermotolerant Campylobacter spp. in chicken samples.

Optimization of a 12-hour TaqMan PCR-based method for detection of Salmonella bacteria in meat
Article Abstract:
The development and optimization of a 12-h Salmonella analysis method based on a shortened preenrichment period combined with increased detection sensitivity in a real-time PCR for the meat industry, enabling a faster release of Salmonella-free fresh meat and meat products is described.

Toward an international standard for PCR-based detection of food-borne thermotolerant campylobacters: validation in a multicenter collaborative trial
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on food-borne thermotolerant campylobacters. The authors discuss the use of PCR assay in detecting these campylobacters, and describe the evaluation of the assay via the international trial involving 12 laboratories.
