Community-level physiological profiling performed with an oxygen-sensitive fluorophore in a microtiter plate

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on hydroponic rhizosphere and salt marsh litter samples. The authors have performed community-level physiological profiling on these samples based on fluorometric oxygen consumption detection via the use of substrate levels, and the results demonstrate that the response rate is increased in samples acclimated to specific substrates and is reduced by limiting nitrogen availability.

Oxygen-insensitive nitroreductases NfsA and NfsB of Escherichia coli function under anaerobic conditions as lawsone-dependent azo reductases

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Escherichia coli. The ability of this bacterium to perform lawsone-dependent azo reductases, and the enzymatic activity responsible for this ability have been investigated, and the results are reported.
