Community analysis of ammonia and nitrite oxidizers during start-up of nitritation reactors
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on partial nitrification of ammonium to nitrite under oxic conditions. The authors have investigated the role of pH, low temperature and dilution rate in the formation, composition and activity of ammonia-oxidizing biomass in bioreactors from sewage sludge.

Identification and manipulation of soil properties to improve the biological control performance of phenazine-producing Pseudomonas fluorescence
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Pseudomonas fluorescence 2-79RN (sub)10 which protects wheat against take-all disease. Results demonstrate that organic matter addition at rates typical of high-organic matter soils reduces biocontrol activity of P. fluorescence 2-79RN (sub)10.

Microbial diversity of biofilms in dental unit water systems
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on biofilms discovered in dental unit water systems. The authors describe different methods used in investigating microbial diversity of these biofilms.
