Article Abstract:
A combination of scanning confocal laser microscopy and triple-labeling technique is employed to examine the commensal relationships between the two Peudomonas species. The bacteria are involved in the biodegrdation of organic compounds and their commensal relationship is demonstrated by comparing the biofilms between the two with that of dual-species biofilms.

Article Abstract:
Metabolic engineering of an aerobic sulfate reduction pathway to produce sulfide, which then redirected to overproduce cysteine and its eventual conversion to sulfide enzymatically is described. Data show that the technique can be used for precipitating cadmium enabling its use in metal precipitation applications.

Article Abstract:
A confocal microscope that uses both Kr/Ar and UV lasers can be used to identify cells tagged with two or more different green fluorescent proteins. Some green fluorescent proteins are stimulated by UV frequencies, but others are stimulated at other frequencies.
