Article Abstract:
Analyses of morphology, RAPDs, and chloroplast DNA together have found spontaneous hybridization in the genus Chaenomeles. Analysis of diagnostic RAPD markers and of chloroplast DNA haplotypes supports the idea that spontaneous hybridization has taken place. It appears that a symmetrical, not unidirectional, introgression occurred between C. cathayensis and C. speciosa. RAPDs and morphologic characters showed concordant patterns of genetic relatedness among the offspring families.

Article Abstract:
Fine-scale spatial genetic structure of eight tropical tree species, in populations that were part of a silviculture trial in French Guiana has been studied using RAPD. Relationships between life history characteristics and spatial genetic structure are considered.

Article Abstract:
The mixed-mating cactus, Melocactus curvispinus (Cactaceae), has been studied in Venezuela relative to genetic variation and population structure. Levels and patterns of genetic structure seen for the cactus were consistent with its mating system and gene dispersal mechanisms.
