Combination of competitive quantitative PCR and constant-denaturant capillary electrophoresis for high-resolution detection and enumeration of microbial cells
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the microbial cells. The use of the competitive PCR and the constant-denaturant capillary electrophoresis for enumeration of these cells in environmental samples is described.

Degradation of 3-methylpyridine and 3-ethylpyridine by Gordonia nitida LE31
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the Gordonia nitida LE31 cells. Results indicate that grown on 3-methylpyridine these cells degrade 3-ethylpyridine and vise versa and that this degradation occurs via a pathway involving C-2-C-3 ring cleavage.

Colonization dynamics of altered Schaedler flora is influenced by gender, aging, and helicobacter hepaticus infection in the intestines of Swiss Webster mice
Article Abstract:
The natural distribution and colonization dynamics of the altered Schaedler Flora (ASF) was analyzed and ASF colonization parameters were tabulated in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) concurrently infected with the murine enteric pathogen Helicobacter hepaticus in the GITs of Swiss Webster mice. This approach provides a powerful tool for quantitatively dissecting bacterium-host interactions with high resolution.
