Closing in on Chlamydia and its intracellular bag of tricks
Article Abstract:
This review discusses the mechanistic aspects of Chlamydia infections in animals and humans. Data reveal that the bacterium develops a contact-dependent type III secretion (TTS) pathway regulating bacterial survivial and growth. It is hypothesized that signal transduction via TTS aids the bacterium in its infectivity of hosts.

Microvirus of Chlamydia psittaci strain Guinea pig Inclusion Conjunctivitis: isolation and molecular characterization
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the bacteriophage that infects Chlamydia psittaci strain Guinea pig Inclusion Conjunctivitis. Results indicate that the infection has resulted in phage genome integration into the Chlamydia pneumoniae genome.
