Clonal population structure and specific genotypes of multidrug-resistant Campylobacter coli from Turkeys
Article Abstract:
The population structure and the genotypes of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Campylobacter coli strains isolated from turkeys are characterized. The correlation between multilocus sequence typing (MLST)-based sequence types (STs) and the MDR profiles of the microbes has indicated that MLST-based typing can be used for source-tracking applications specific to the animal source and the antimicrobial resistance profile of Campylobacter coli.

Effects of orally administered tetracycline on the intestinal community structure of chickens and on tet determinant carriage by commensal bacteria and Campylobacter jejuni
Article Abstract:
The effects of oral administration on the resistance of poultry commensal bacteria and the intestinal bacterial community structure are evaluated. The results imply that complex ecological and genetic factors contribute to the prevalence of antibiotic resistance arising from resistance gene transfer in the production environment.

Impact of antimicrobial usage on antimicrobial resistance in commensal Escherichia coli strains colonizing broiler chickens
Article Abstract:
The determination of phenotypic expression of antimicrobial resistance and carriage of drug resistance among Escherichia coli strains isolated from commercial broilers and experimental flock of chickens indicated mobile elements as contributing factors to the prevalence of resistance.
