Chlorine inactivation of adenovirus type 40 and feline calicivirus

Article Abstract:

Results show that chlorine at 1 mg per liter and contact times of 60 to 237 minutes inactivates dispersed adenovirus type 40, dispersed feline calcivirus, dispersed polio virus type 1, and aggregated poliovirus type 1 as determined by Ct values, which is the concentration of free chlorine times the contact time with virus.

Chlorine sensitivity of feline calicivirus, a norovirus surrogate

Article Abstract:

The sensitivity to free chlorine of feline calicivirus (FCV), a norovirus surrogate with respect to the chlorine demand is studied. The analysis reveals that the sensitivity of FCV to free chlorine increases with a reduction in the host cell debris.

Inactivation of enteric adenovirus and feline calicivirus by chlorine dioxide

Article Abstract:

Chlorine dioxide inactivation experiments were conducted with adenovirus type 40 (AD40) and feline calicivirus (FCV). It is demonstrated that FCV is more resistant to chlorine dioxide than AD40 for the conditions studied.
