Degradation of chlorinated dibenzofurans and dibenzo-p-dioxins by two types of bacteria having angular dioxygenases with different features
Article Abstract:
The biodegradation of chlorinated dibenzofurans (DF) and chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins by Terrabacter sp. strain DBF63 and Pseudomonas sp. strain CA10 is described. The former organism produces a DF 4,4a-dioxygenase and the latter produces CAR 1,9a-dioxygenase.

A CysB-regulated and sigma (super)54 -dependent SfnR, is essential for dimethyl sulfone metabolism of Pseudomonas putida strain DS1
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Pseudomonas putida strain DS1. Results demonstrate that this strain utilizes dimethyl sulfide as a sulfur sourse and desulfurizes it via dimethyl sulfone, dimethyl sulfoxide and methanesulfonate.

Characterization of the replication, maintenance, and transfer features of the IncP-7 plasmid pCAR1, which carries genes involved in carbazole and dioxin degradation
Article Abstract:
A 199-kb plasmid pCAR1 is characterized in terms of its replication, maintenance and conjugation. Incompatibility testing using the minireplicon of pCAR1 and IncP plasmids has shown that pCAR1 belongs to the IncP-7 group.
