Article Abstract:
Researchers describe the IncP1beta plasmidpTSA from Comamonas testosteroni T-2, which has 99% sequence homology to the IncP1 resistance plasmid. The plasmid contains a tsa transposon and a mercury resistance operon.

Article Abstract:
Results reveal that TsaR, the LysR-type regulator of the tsa operon, interacts at a region of the operon that blocks tsaR transcription in the absence of p-toluenesulfonate, but in its presence, TsaR shifts to different region relieving tsaR transcription blockade and transcription of the tsa operon.

Article Abstract:
Comamonas testosteroni T-2 was observed to have two plasmids, pTSA and pT2T. A TSA- mutant had only plasmid pT2T. C. testosteroni PSB-4 which does not degrade TSA, had one plasmid, pPSB. The type strain had no plasmids. Conjugation experiments revealed that plasmid pTSA was conjugative and the single copy of the TSA operon with its putative regulator gene (tsaR) in strain T-2 was seen on plasmid pTSA which also had the PSB genes (psbAC).
