Characterization of Candidate Genes for Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis in Dog

Article Abstract:

Experimental analysis of canine gene full-length cDNA sequences is presented for neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses, a group of inherited monogenic autosomal recessive neurodegenerative diseases. The gene size in the human sequence is larger to that in dog due to longer intron length. Selected dog breeds are used as illustration.

Genetic Mapping of Canine Multiple System Degeneration and Ectodermal Dysplasia Loci

Article Abstract:

A movement disorder affecting Chinese Crested dogs is differentiated genetically from canine multiple system degeneration that has previously been observed in Kerry Blue Terriers. Mutations are allelic, autosomal dominant, and possess homozygous lethality.

Evaluation of Canine COL4A3 and COL4A4 as Candidates for Familial Renal Disease in the Norwegian Elkhound

Article Abstract:

Findings of one recombinant between COL4A3 and COL4A4 and familial renal disease indicate that these two genes are not likely to be candidates for the disease in Norwegian elkhound dogs. Microsatellites are developed and discussed.
