Characterization of Candidate Genes for Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis in Dog

Article Abstract:

Experimental analysis of canine gene full-length cDNA sequences is presented for neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses, a group of inherited monogenic autosomal recessive neurodegenerative diseases. The gene size in the human sequence is larger to that in dog due to longer intron length. Selected dog breeds are used as illustration.

Complex segregation analysis of canine hip dysplasia in German shepherd dogs

Article Abstract:

The mode of inheritance of canine hip dysplasia (CHD) in German shepherd dogs were analyzed and clarified through complex segregation. Although only small frequencies were found for the unfavorable homozygotic genotype AA, the probability of the AB genotype was high in affected animals.

Exclusion of Urate Oxidase as a Candidate Gene for Hyperuricosuria in the Dalmatian Dog Using an Interbreed Backcross

Article Abstract:

Segregation involving the microsatellite markers surrounding the locus for urate oxidase was tracked, and findings show that the uox gene can be excluded for hyperuricosuria in Dalmatians based on negative LOD scores and the cDNA sequence identity.
