Characterization of AbiR, a novel multicomponent abortive infection mechanism encoded by plasmid pKR223 of Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis KR2

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the native lactococcal plasmid pKR223. Results indicate that this plasmid encodes abortive infection mechanism that affects prolate-headed-phage proliferation.

Quantitative analysis of group II intron expression and splicing in Lactococcus lactis

Article Abstract:

The expression and splicing activity of L1.1trB in its natural host, pRS01 is analyzed by developing quantitative real-time reverse transcription (RT)-PCR assays. The group II intron L1.trB is found within the ltrB relaxase gene of the conjugative element pRS01 in Lactococcus lactis.
