Calcium-induced restructuring of nuclear envelope and endoplasmic reticulum calcium stores

Article Abstract:

The control of localized calcium signals and sustained calcium gradients critically depends on the spatial arrangement of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and nuclear envelope (NE) calcium stores. Based on the research, large molecules in resting cells rapidly diffuse across the cell inside the lumenal storage space described by the ER and NE membranes when fused with a lumenal diffusion protein. A rise in cytosolic calcium reversibly separated ER tubules and hindered lumenal diffusion. The vital aspects of ER-NE calcium stores give insights about spatiotemporal control of calcium signaling.

A pre-mRNA-binding protein accompanies the RNA from the gene through the nuclear pores and into polysomes

Article Abstract:

Analysis of larval salivary glands of Chironomus tentans has substantiated the theory of how pre-mRNA associate with proteins to form pre-mRNP (ribonucleoprotein) complexes. The complexes studied are associated with the Balbiani ring and has shown an ability to move from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. The C. tentans RNP complex, designated hrp36, was found to be present not only in the nucleus, but has shown significant quantities in the cytoplasm as well. The hrp36 remains stable even after the assembly of polyribosomes on the mRNA.

Regulation of nuclear proteasome by Rhp6/Ubc2 through ubiquitination and destruction of the sensor and anchor Cut8

Article Abstract:

The nuclear enrichment of proteasome through the function of Cut8, a nuclear envelope protein is due to Rhp6/Ubc2/Rad6 and ligating enzymes is a nuclear envelope protein that is responsible for the enrichment of proteasome in the nucleus and the nuclear membrane. The retention of nuclear proteasome is enhanced by Rhp6 through regulating Cut8.
