Article Abstract:
Calcineurin associated with inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (IP(sub 3)) receptor in the presence of the immunophilin protein, FKBP12, controls phosphorylation of the receptor and its Ca2+ flux properties. The complex formation is dependent on Ca2+ ions and is inhibited by immunosuppressant drugs such as FK 506 and rapamycin. A molecular mechanism of control of the phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of IP(sub 3) is presented.

Article Abstract:
The concept of chemical neurotransmission began at the turn of the 20th century with the discovery of the catecholamine epinephrine, the hormone of the adrenal medulla responsible for the fight or flight response. Norepinephrine is the key neurotransmitter in the sympathetic nervous system and in a trio of 1961 papers, it is showed that norepinephrine is inactivated through its uptake into sympathetic nerve terminals.

Article Abstract:
Dopamine is a key neurotransmitter that is important for many physiological functions including motor control, mood and the reward pathway. Two different molecules namely beta-arrestin 2 and Par-4, are identified that unexpectedly are involved in dopamine signaling via dopamine receptor 2.
