Butyrate specifically down-regulates Salmonella pathogenicity island 1 gene expression
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the comparative transcriptomatic analysis of Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis and Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium grown in medium supplemented with butyrate. Results showed that the expression of 19 genes common to both serovars by a factor of two-fold or more, and 17 of these genes localized to the Salmonella pathogenicity island 1(SP11), was down-regulated by butyrate.

Molecular analysis of human, porcine, and poultry Enterococcus faecium isolates and their erm(B) genes
Article Abstract:
Fifty-nine erm(B)-positive Enterococcus faecium strains isolated from pigs, broilers, and humans were typed using multilocus sequence typing (MLST). The coding sequence of the erm(B) gene is determined and identical erm(B) gene sequences are detected in genetically unrelated isolates.

Medium-chain fatty acids decrease colonization and invasion through hilA suppression shortly after infection of chickens with salmonella enterica serovar endteritidis
Article Abstract:
Salmonella enterica serovar enteritidis is the main cause of infections caused with the consumption of poultry meat and poultry products. In this study the medium chain fatty acids are investigated to control this bacteria.
