Born to bind: The BTB protein-protein interaction domain

Article Abstract:

The transcriptional regulation is explored to illustrate how the variability of the BTB domain has allowed the related transcription factors to evolve different functional abilities. The results have illustrated diverse and convergent functions of a versatile protein-protein interaction domain.

Anterior eye development and ocular mesenchyme: new insights from mouse models and human diseases

Article Abstract:

The role of transcription factors, which is involved in the coordination of anterior eye development, is reviewed with the help of mouse models. It is observed that there are more regulatory genes involved in the development of anterior eye segment.

A metabolic enzyme doing double duty as a transcription factor

Article Abstract:

The discovery of a new type of multifunctional protein, a metabolic enzyme that doubles as a transcription factor is described. The evolutions of proteins that serve as both metabolic enzymes and transcription factors are also discussed.
