Article Abstract:

Research work and development was conducted at Otisville since 1906 of antibodies in horse to rabbit serum globulin. The 10,000-square foot Otisville Complex originally owned as a municipal sanitarium for tuberculosis by the New York City Department of Health was taken over by Breonics in 2001. However, since the cost of caring for the horses increased to $200,000 per year, Breonics refused to continue to take responsibility for their care and were subsequently sued by New York City.
