Article Abstract:
The genetic architecture of virus transmission is studied by crossing a vector and a non-vector genotype of the aphid Schizaphis graminum. The results have shown that in Schizaphis graminum, the transmission efficiency of both Cereal yellow dwarf virus (CYDV)-RPV and Barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV)-SGV is regulated by a major gene and the transmission efficiency of each virus is affected by a unique set of minor genes.

Article Abstract:
An overview of the major features of the aphid wing dimorphism is presented. The observation of co-expression of a wing polyphemis in females and a wing polymorphism in males offers a rare opportunity to address the relationship between environmental and genetic induction of alternative phenotypes.

Article Abstract:
A research to determine the genetic basis of a male wing polymorphism in the pea aphid Acrthosiphon pisum is initiated. The study presents the first mapping of agene with known function in aphids, while the results indicate the target gene mapping in aphids is feasible.
