Bioaerosol mass spectrometry for rapid detection of individual airborne mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra particles
Article Abstract:
An evaluation on the single-particle laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry, in the form of bioaerosol mass spectrometry (BAMS) was made as a rapid detector for individual airborne, micron-sized, Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra particles. The BAMS mass spectral signatures for aerosolized Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra particles were found to be distinct from Mycobacterium smegmatis, Bacillus atrophaeus and Bacillus cereus particles.

On-probe sample pretreatment for direct analysis of lipids in gram-positive bacterial cells by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry
Article Abstract:
Direct detection of phospholipids in gram-positive bacterial is tried by means of matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) combined with the on-probe sample pretreatment. MALDI-MS has become a powerful method to characterize lipid components in bacterial cells.

Mechanism of augmentation of organotin decomposition by ferripyochelin: Formation of hydroxyl radical and organotin-pyochelin-iron ternary complex
Article Abstract:
Significant augmentation of triphenyltin (TPT) decomposition by ferripyochelin (FePCH), the chelating compound of pyochelin (PCH) with iron, is demonstrated in Tris-HCl buffer (pH8.0). The generation of hydroxyl radical (HO.) in the presence of FePCH is observed.
