Biased estimators of quantitative trait locus heritability and location in interval mapping

Article Abstract:

The bias estimations of quantitative trait locus heritability and quantitative trait locus location through a simulation study are investigated. The simulators suggest that the bias of the resulting estimator at a proper quantitative trait locus location is negligible, thus, the reported bias resulting from interval mapping is related only to the model selection process and testing.

Late-acting inbreeding depression in both male and female function of Echium vulgare (Boraginaceae)

Article Abstract:

Late-acting inbreeding depression in male/female function in Echium vulgare (Boraginaceae) is discussed and has been seen to greatly affect offspring fitness. Topics include pollen performance/viability, siring success, rate of pollen tube growth and seed production.

Heritability of nectar production in Echium vulgare

Article Abstract:

The heritabilities of nectar production in the wild species Echium vulgare were estimated under controlled and field conditions. The study reported a genetic component of variation of nectar production in the wild plant species in the field.
